The Festival is the heart of the gathering – three days (June 4 – 6) where people from across communities, movements, and places come together to learn, share, celebrate, and imagine what is possible when we connect our efforts. The festival will take place at Salema Eco Camp.

Through workshops, Open Space Technology, ceremony, shared meals, presentations, conversations, creative experiences, and moments of connection, participants will have opportunities to exchange knowledge, discover new perspectives, build relationships, and celebrate the many ways communities around the world are creating regenerative futures.

Pricing

As a rough guide, you can expect:

  • Festival registration + food: £195–£270 per person
  • Optional Intensive: £50 (+ food and accommodation)
  • Camping: from around £10 per person/night
  • Shared accommodation: from around £29 per person/night

Accommodation prices include the 15% discount kindly offered by Salema Eco Camp. These are approximate costs for planning purposes, with final accommodation options and prices confirmed by Salema.

We’re doing our best to find a balance between the real costs of making this gathering happen and our wish for it to be accessible to as many people as possible. We’ve kept costs as low as we can, while offering different rates and accommodation options to support different circumstances. We’re also working with a lot of care and creativity behind the scenes to make the gathering possible with the resources we have, and we hope you’ll find a way to join us.

Registration involves two steps:

  1. Register for the gathering. Visit Transition Network’s Pretix page to register and pay for your gathering participation and food, with the option to add an Intensive.
  2. Book your accommodation. After registering, you’ll receive a link to book your accommodation directly with Salema Eco Camp, which has kindly offered all gathering participants 15% off accommodation bookings.

The Daily Rhythm

The gathering is designed to have a gentle rhythm that moves between coming together as a whole group, exploring ideas and possibilities in smaller groups, and plenty of time to rest, eat, wander and connect informally. Each festival day begins with optional movement and meditation, followed by breakfast and a whole-group meeting. The late mornings and afternoons weave together workshops, Open Space conversations, meetups and other participatory sessions, with a generous lunch and rest period in the middle of the day. Evenings are for shared meals, music, movies, fires, performances and unstructured time together. The final day has a more spacious, reflective rhythm, bringing us towards collective visioning, gratitude and closing. There will be structure to help us find our way, while leaving plenty of room for the unexpected connections and invitations that emerge when we are together.

The Gathering Place

We’ll be gathering at Salema Eco Camp, on Portugal’s Algarve coast, a beautiful, nature-rich setting close to Salema Beach and the Costa Vicentina. The camp sits among native vegetation and coastal landscapes, with walking trails, outdoor spaces and plenty of opportunities to slow down, spend time in nature and connect informally between sessions.

There are a range of ways to stay, from camping and glamping to lodges, apartments, studios and mobile homes, making it possible to choose the level of comfort and connection that works for you. Shared meals and food will be part of the gathering, with an on-site restaurant and café offering options for different dietary needs.

Salema is also a fitting place for a gathering focused on regenerative futures. The camp has been Green Key certified since 2022 and is working towards Zero Waste certification, with initiatives including water conservation, wastewater recycling, composting, waste reduction, biodiversity and regeneration projects. The on-site Nazari restaurant also calculates the carbon footprint of its dishes and places an emphasis on local products.

We hope the setting itself becomes part of the experience: a place to gather, learn, celebrate, rest, play and spend time together, while staying connected to the landscape around us.

More logistical information will be shared in a follow-up email after registration. You can also find more details about the venue, travel, accommodation and practical arrangements throughout this website and in the FAQs.
